10 Best Survey Software of 2026
By the KeenVerdict research desk · Updated November 7, 2026 · Next review December 22, 2026 · 10 products scored

Our verdict
SurveyMonkey is the safest all-round choice, with 400+ templates, 200+ integrations and a research panel for buying responses. Google Forms and Microsoft Forms cover simple internal surveys at little or no extra cost if your team already works in those suites. Jotform is the pick when a survey also needs payments or signatures, and Typeform when completion rates and a polished, one-question-at-a-time look matter. Research teams that need quotas, weighting and statistical analysis should compare QuestionPro, Alchemer and Qualtrics, which cost more but go much deeper.
The short answer
SurveyMonkey is the best survey software for marketers, researchers and HR teams in 2026; Google Forms suits small teams that want simple surveys inside a Google account; the cheapest verified paid option is Microsoft 365 Business Basic, which includes Microsoft Forms, at $7 per user per month paid yearly.
This list is for marketers running customer and brand surveys, researchers running market studies, and HR teams collecting employee feedback. We compared documented features and published prices for 10 survey tools and scored each on features, ease of use and value. Prices are the cheapest paid plan in US dollars as shown on the vendor's own pages when we checked; where a page only showed another currency from our location, the price is marked as pending. Response limits matter as much as the sticker price, so each entry lists how many responses a plan includes.

Google Forms is the fastest way to get a survey out if your team already uses Google accounts. You create a form at forms.google.com, from a spreadsheet in Google Sheets or from Drive, add questions, images or video, and share it by email, social media or an embed on a website. Responses can be stored in a Google Sheet, and Forms draws charts from answers in real time, so a simple internal pulse survey needs no other software. Collaborators can edit a form and review results together, and conditional sections show questions based on earlier answers. Google states that files are encrypted in transit and at rest and that Forms undergoes independent security and compliance checks. The limits show up in research work: there is no respondent panel, no quotas or weighting and no built-in crosstabs, so analysts end up in Sheets or add-ons. Workspace prices showed only in local currency from our location, so the USD check is pending.
What works
- +Responses flow straight into Google Sheets for analysis
- +Sharing by email, social media or website embed
- +Collaborators can edit forms and review responses together
What does not
- −No survey panel, quotas or advanced research analysis
- −Branding options are limited to themes and fonts
- −Deeper analysis relies on Sheets, add-ons or Apps Script

SurveyMonkey covers the most ground for teams that run several kinds of surveys. The free Basic plan allows unlimited surveys with 10 questions each, AI survey building and sharing by web link, social media or website embed. Standard Monthly adds unlimited questions, 1,000 responses a month, skip logic, email invitations, data exports and 200+ integrations. Advantage Annual raises the allowance to 15,000 responses a year and adds payments, statistical significance, multi-survey analysis and AI thematic analysis, while Premier adds white label branding, advanced logic, block randomization, multilingual surveys and crosstabs. Team plans start at 3 users and include shared brand assets and permissions. The Audience panel is useful for market research when you need respondents you do not already have. The pricing page showed only local currency from our location, so we could not confirm a USD price, and extra responses carry a per-response charge. For most teams it is the most complete general survey tool here.
What works
- +Templates cover customer satisfaction, NPS, employee feedback and market research
- +Team plans add shared brand assets, user roles and account permissions
- +Audience panel lets you reach respondents outside your own list
What does not
- −Basic limits surveys to 10 questions and a limited number of responses
- −Team plans start at 3 users
- −Extra responses above the plan limit are billed per response
- Free plan
- Yes, Basic with 10 questions per survey

Free Starter plan; Bronze from $34 per month billed annually
Quoted from the Jotform pricing page on November 7, 2026:
Bronze $ 34 /month Billed annually
Jotform is a form builder first, which makes it strong for surveys that also collect payments, files or signatures. The free Starter plan includes all standard features, such as templates, payment integrations and widgets, with 5 forms, 100 monthly submissions, 10,000 monthly form views and 10 signed documents a month. Bronze, at $34 per month billed annually, raises that to 25 forms, 1,000 monthly submissions, 100,000 form views and 1 GB of space, and removes Jotform branding. Silver adds room for 50 forms and 2,500 submissions, and Gold goes to 100 forms and 10,000 submissions. Educational institutions and nonprofits get 50% off the three main paid plans. For survey work, the trade-off is analysis: Jotform is built around submissions and tables rather than research features such as quotas, weighting or crosstabs. Marketing and operations teams that run registrations, order forms and feedback surveys side by side will get the most out of it.
What works
- +Starter includes all standard features, not a cut-down editor
- +Payments and signatures sit in the same tool as the survey
- +Bronze raises limits to 25 forms and 1,000 monthly submissions
What does not
- −Free forms carry Jotform branding
- −Limits are set per form count, which adds up for survey-heavy teams
- −HIPAA features are not available on Starter or Bronze
- Free plan
- Yes, 5 forms and 100 monthly submissions
- Paid plans
- Bronze, Silver, Gold, Enterprise
- Bronze limits
- 25 forms, 1,000 monthly submissions, 1 GB space
- Nonprofit and education
- 50% off Bronze, Silver and Gold

Free Essentials plan; Advanced from $99 per user per month billed annually
Quoted from the QuestionPro pricing page on November 7, 2026:
Advanced Complete survey solution designed for business $99 Per user/month, billed annually Free 10-Day trial
QuestionPro is aimed at teams that treat surveys as research rather than quick feedback. The free Essentials plan gives one user 200 responses per survey, 30 question types and basic logic, integrations and analysis, with 24/7 chat and email support. Advanced, at $99 per user per month billed annually with a 10-day trial, raises the allowance to 25K responses a year and 38 question types and adds standard logic, integrations, analysis and branding. Team Edition is $83 per user per month for 5 or more users, with 100K responses per survey, 46 question types and regional data centers. Above that, Research Edition bundles audience and insight tools on multi-year terms. QuestionPro also sells customer experience and employee experience products, which helps HR and CX teams keep programs in one vendor. The interface carries more options than form builders, so casual users take longer to learn it, and per-user pricing adds up for large teams.
What works
- +Essentials is a usable free tier with 30 question types
- +Team Edition drops to $83 per user per month for 5+ users
- +Research Edition bundles extend into audience and insight tools
What does not
- −Advanced costs $99 per user per month, well above form builders
- −Team Edition requires 5 or more users
- −Research bundles are sold as multi-year partnerships
- Free plan
- Yes, Essentials with 200 responses per survey
- Paid plans

Free with a personal Microsoft account; included in Microsoft 365 Business Basic from $7 per user per month paid yearly
Quoted from the Microsoft Forms pricing page on November 7, 2026:
Microsoft 365 Business Basic Lightweight web and mobile apps to kickstart your business $7.00 user/month, paid yearly
Microsoft Forms is the default for internal surveys at companies that already pay for Microsoft 365. Business Basic, at $7 per user per month paid yearly, lists Forms among its included apps, and so do the Standard and Premium plans. Forms builds surveys, polls and quizzes with branching, editable themes and multilingual support, shows real-time charts and automatic reports, and exports to Excel. Microsoft's documented limits are generous: up to 400 forms, 200 questions per form and up to 5,000,000 responses per form on business accounts. Personal Microsoft accounts can use Forms for free, with a 200-response limit per form, rising to 1,000 for paid personal accounts. The trade-offs are depth and branding: summary charts and individual response views are not supported above 50,000 responses, and Microsoft itself points users who want advanced branding, question types and analysis to Dynamics 365 Customer Voice. For HR pulse surveys, polls in Teams and training quizzes, it costs nothing extra.
What works
- +Included in Microsoft 365 business plans alongside Teams and Excel
- +High response ceiling on business accounts
- +Works in any browser on any device
What does not
- −Free personal accounts are limited to 200 responses per form
- −Advanced branding and analysis point to Dynamics 365 Customer Voice
- −Summary charts are not supported above 50,000 responses
- Free option
- Personal Microsoft account, up to 200 responses per form
- Business plan
- Included in Microsoft 365 Business Basic, Standard and Premium
- Form limit
- Up to 400 forms
- Responses per form
- Up to 5,000,000 on business accounts

Forever free plan; Basic from $19 per month billed yearly
Quoted from the SurveySparrow pricing page on November 7, 2026:
Basic For students, freelancers, and personal projects $ 19 Per month
SurveySparrow combines a survey builder with customer experience tools for NPS, CSAT and CES. The forever free plan gives 75 responses per quarter, 3 active surveys and 10 questions per survey. Basic, at $19 per month billed yearly, gives one user 2,500 responses a year with email distribution, partial responses, display and skip logic and Slack plus 5+ integrations. Starter at $39 adds survey translation, surveys embedded in email and HubSpot plus 10+ integrations with 15,000 responses a year. Business at $79 adds 3 users, custom branding, advanced question types, workflows, webhooks and respondent location tracking with 36,000 responses a year. Enterprise adds auto translation into 130+ languages, key driver analysis and HIPAA compliance. The 14-day trial covers Business features without a credit card, though it is limited to 50 responses. Extra users at $49 each per month make it pricier for larger teams, and branding sits behind Business.
What works
- +Low entry price for a paid survey plan
- +14-day trial of Business features without a credit card
- +50% off for students and 15% off for NGOs
What does not
- −Free plan caps surveys at 10 questions
- −Custom branding starts on Business at $79 per month billed yearly
- −Extra users cost $49 per user per month
- Free plan
- Yes, 75 responses per quarter, 3 active surveys
- Paid plans

Free plan; Basic from $28 per month billed yearly ($39 monthly)
Quoted from the Typeform pricing page on November 7, 2026:
468 USD total / yr 28 USD / mo Save 132 USD / yr Get Basic
Typeform is the best-looking option here and the one most focused on getting people to finish a survey. Forms show one question at a time, and every paid plan includes unlimited typeforms, AI-powered form creation, conditional logic, webhooks and integrations. Basic costs $28 per month billed yearly, or $39 monthly, and includes 100 responses a month for one user. Plus, at $56 per month billed yearly, raises that to 1,000 responses and 3 users and removes Typeform branding, while Business at $91 per month billed yearly gives 10,000 responses, 5 users, drop-off rates and conversion tracking. Form translation, video questions and spam prevention are documented features. The catch for survey teams is volume: 100 monthly responses on Basic is tight for customer or employee surveys, and analysis features such as crosstabs or weighting are not part of the plans. For marketers using surveys to qualify leads or gather feedback from a site, it is a pleasant tool to build with.
What works
- +One-question-at-a-time design suits customer and lead surveys
- +Webhooks and integrations on the entry plan
- +Response limits reset monthly on both monthly and yearly plans
What does not
- −Basic includes only 100 responses a month
- −Branding removal needs Plus at $56 per month billed yearly
- −Surveys above 50,000 responses a month need a custom plan
- Free plan
- Yes, with a limited number of responses per month
- Paid plans
- Basic, Plus, Business, Growth, Enterprise
- Monthly responses
- 100 on Basic, 1,000 on Plus, 10,000 on Business

Zoho Survey is a budget survey tool with a clear plan ladder. Every plan, including Free, allows unlimited surveys and unlimited collectors per survey. The Free plan caps each survey at 10 questions and 100 responses, while Basic removes the question cap and allows up to 12,000 responses per survey a year. Plus, Pro and Enterprise allow 3,000, 5,000 and 7,000 responses per survey each month with no annual cap. Zoho lists over 250 templates in 10 categories, and discounts cover nonprofits, students, who get Plus for free, and educators, who get 50% off. Businesses already on Zoho apps will find it a natural fit. The pricing page showed only euro and pound prices from our location, so we marked the USD check as pending. It lacks the panels and advanced research analysis of QuestionPro, Alchemer or Qualtrics, but covers routine customer and employee surveys at a low cost.
What works
- +Low entry price for a paid plan
- +Unlimited annual responses per survey from Plus up
- +Discounts for nonprofits, students and educators
What does not
- −Free plan caps surveys at 10 questions and 100 responses
- −Basic is limited to 12,000 responses per survey a year
- −USD prices were not shown to us, so costs need checking

Free plan; Strategic Research from $420 per month ($5,040 per year)
Quoted from the Qualtrics pricing page on November 7, 2026:
Strategic Research $420/month ($5,040/year)
Qualtrics is the research specialist on this list. Its free account needs no credit card and does not expire, and it allows 500 responses per survey, 8 question types, 3 active surveys with up to 30 questions each, skip, display and branch logic, and 50+ templates. Strategic Research, at $420 per month or $5,040 per year, is where the research toolkit appears: 23 question types including heat maps and file upload, surveys in 70+ languages, quotas with cross-logic, response weighting, screen-out management, crosstabs, text and sentiment analysis, and StatsIQ for regression and clustering with R integration. It also adds video and audio feedback, focus groups, an Expert Review that checks design and PII, dashboards and a workflow engine for alerts. Exports include SPSS on both tiers. The price and the number of options make it overkill for a quick customer survey, and the free tier is tight for anything beyond a small study. For agencies and in-house research teams it is the most capable tool here.
What works
- +Deepest research toolkit on this list
- +Expert Review checks survey design and PII before launch
- +Free account has no expiration and needs no credit card
What does not
- −Strategic Research costs $420 per month
- −Free plan allows only 3 active surveys of up to 30 questions
- −Dashboards and custom branding need the paid plan
- Free plan
- Yes, 500 responses per survey, 3 active surveys
- Paid plan
- Strategic Research, $5,040 per year
- Question types
- 8 free, 23 on Strategic Research
- Templates
- 50+ survey templates, 20+ pre-built solutions

Alchemer sits between general survey tools and enterprise research suites. Alchemer Survey includes an AI Survey Builder that turns a plain-language description into a draft in about a minute, and AI Smart Question asks follow-ups based on each response. Plans are split into Individual and Small Teams for 1 to 3 users and a Business Platform for larger teams, and each seat is a Collaborator, Professional or Full Access license. All three include unlimited surveys and questions, custom branding, survey logic, email campaigns, file upload questions and raw data exports, with 75,000, 100,000 or 125,000 annual responses per account. Professional adds phone support, advanced logic and offline or kiosk mode, while Full Access adds SPSS reports, advanced analysis and market research questions. Alchemer says exceeding limits does not bring overage charges. The plans page does not publish prices, so cost needs a sales conversation or trial, and there is no free plan.
What works
- +Unlimited surveys and questions on every license
- +Phone support on Professional and Full Access
- +No overage charges for exceeding response limits
What does not
- −No free plan, only a free trial
- −Prices are not shown on the plans page
- −SPSS reports and advanced analysis need Full Access
- Free plan
- No
- License types

Before you choose
Count responses, not surveys
Most tools allow unlimited surveys and cap responses instead. Typeform Basic includes 100 responses a month, SurveySparrow Basic 2,500 a year and QuestionPro Advanced 25,000 a year. Estimate your yearly response volume across all surveys before comparing prices.
Match the analysis to the audience
Customer and employee pulse surveys need charts, filters and exports. Market research needs quotas, crosstabs, weighting and SPSS exports, which appear on Qualtrics Strategic Research, Alchemer Full Access and SurveyMonkey Premier plans rather than entry tiers.
Check who can sign in
Team plans add shared assets, roles and permissions. SurveyMonkey team plans start at 3 users and Alchemer sells Collaborator, Professional and Full Access licenses, so price the mix of seats you actually need rather than one license.
Start on a free plan
SurveyMonkey, Jotform, Typeform, QuestionPro, Qualtrics, SurveySparrow and Zoho Survey all have free plans. Build your real survey there, send it to a few colleagues and note which cap, such as questions per survey or responses, forces the upgrade.
