Statistics
- Software Buying Statistics
Software budgets keep growing: Gartner forecasts worldwide software spending of $1,468 billion in 2026, up 15.5%. AI now shapes how that money is spent, with G2 finding 51% of B2B software buyers start research in an AI chatbot more often than Google and TrustRadius finding 94% of AI users fact-check the answers. Waste is the main risk after purchase: Zylo finds 36% of SaaS licenses go unused, and Flexera finds 59% of organizations saw wasted AI spend rise.
- Password Statistics
About a third of Americans use a password manager: 32% in Pew Research Center's 2023 survey and 36% in Security.org's 2024 survey. The FIDO Alliance counts 5 billion passkeys in active use in 2026 and says 75% of consumers in its ten-country survey have turned them on for at least some accounts. Passwords still sit behind many breaches: Verizon's 2026 report finds credential abuse at some point in 39% of breaches, and Cybernews found only 6% of 19 billion leaked passwords were unique.
- Small Business Cybersecurity Statistics
Small businesses are the main victims of ransomware in breach data: Verizon's 2026 report found about 96% of ransomware victims with a known size were SMBs. In the UK, 46% of small businesses and 42% of micro businesses reported a breach or attack in 2025/2026, according to the government's Cyber Security Breaches Survey, while Statistics Canada found 15% of small Canadian businesses were impacted by an incident in 2025. The median SMB cyber insurance claim cost about $38,000 in Verizon's 2026 Breach Impact Study.
- Customer Support Statistics
The American Customer Satisfaction Index stood at 76.7 out of 100 in the first quarter of 2026 and, by ACSI's account, has not materially increased since 2017. Qualtrics XM Institute puts nearly $3 trillion of global 2026 sales at risk from bad experiences, and a 2026 Gartner survey found 87% of customers say companies using generative AI for service must offer a way to reach a human agent.
- Small Business Website Statistics
Most small businesses now have a website: Clutch found 83% did in 2025, up from 64% in 2018, and Eurostat counts 79.01% of EU enterprises with 10 or more staff. Getting visitors is harder, since Pew Research Center found Google users clicked a result in 8% of visits when an AI summary appeared, against 15% without one. Quality lags too, with HTTP Archive finding 48% of mobile sites pass Core Web Vitals and WebAIM finding detectable accessibility failures on 95.9% of top home pages.
