Smartsheet looks like a spreadsheet and behaves like a project tool. Rows become tasks, columns hold owners, dates and status, and the same sheet can be viewed as a Gantt chart, board or calendar. For operations and program management teams raised on Excel, that is a smooth transition. Pro costs $9 per member per month billed yearly or $12 monthly. Pro already includes unlimited sheets, forms and reports with 250 automations a month for up to 10 members. Business, at $19 billed yearly or $24 monthly, adds unlimited automations, a timeline view, workload tracking and 1 TB of attachment storage. Reports can roll up data from many sheets, which suits portfolio tracking. The costs add up when you need more: secure request management through Dynamic View starts at $125 a month and Data Shuttle at $100 a month. There is no permanent free plan. For teams that prefer cards and boards, Smartsheet feels heavier than Asana or monday.com, but for grid-minded planners it is a strong fit.
