Rentec Direct review

Rentec Direct is a long-running, accounting-first product with three editions. Starter is a flat $25 per month for up to 10 properties and covers property and tenant accounting, online rent payments, applications and screening, a tenant portal, maintenance work orders and Schedule E reports. Rentec Pro, from $50 per month and priced by unit count, removes the limits and adds bank sync, QuickBooks sync, the Open API, Zapier, custom fields, 1099 e-file and a cash payment network. Rentec PM, also from $50 per month, adds trust account management, an owner portal and owner payments by ACH, which is what a third-party manager needs. Rentec charges no setup or training fees and has no term commitments, and every plan includes unlimited US-based support. The interface is plainer than DoorLoop or Buildium, and the pricing calculator rather than a fixed table sets the cost for larger portfolios.
