Pimsleur is the app to choose if you learn best by ear. The core of each course is a 30-minute audio lesson that prompts you to answer out loud, spacing new words so they stick. Because it works hands-free, with CarPlay and Android Auto support and offline downloads, it fits commutes, walks and chores. The app adds reading lessons, flashcards, quick games, Speak Easy role-play transcripts and Voice Coach, which scores your pronunciation against native speakers. Premium covers one language and All Access covers 50+, and you can add up to three users. The method builds speaking confidence quickly, but reading and writing come slowly. We could not confirm the USD subscription price from our location; the vendor offers a free trial. For learners who want to talk sooner, especially for travel, it is the most effective audio option.
Who it is for
