Calm review

Calm built its name on sleep and still leads there. The library holds a large set of Sleep Stories plus soundscapes, sleep meditations and original music. For daytime stress it offers guided sessions on anxiety, gratitude and focus, a 60-second Breathe Bubble for quick relief, and the 7 Days and 21 Days of Calm programs as an introduction. It runs on phones, the web, Apple TV, Apple Watch, Wear OS and Samsung Health. Calm's help center lists $79.99 a year after a 14-day web trial, and a separate Family plan lets the buyer invite up to 5 other people. A small amount of content is free, but the app is built around the subscription. Headspace is cheaper and teaches meditation more step by step. If you mainly want to fall asleep faster and relax at night, Calm is worth the extra cost.
